Project Details
The Middle River campus, located at 1210 Middle River Road, spans 30,000 square feet, houses 50 beds, and offers a welcoming environment that promotes health and healing.
Its ASAM-certified treatment programs are tailored to meet each client’s needs and maintain the privacy required for recovery.
The building features an entrance space that overlooks a two-story sitting area and activity rooms that accommodate traditional counseling, but also recreational therapy, yoga, meditation, and dietary guidance. This combination maximizes clients’ abilities to stay motivated, prepare for change, build recovery skills, and transition to lower levels of longer-term care.
Services Provided
Spyder Engineers, LLC, the structural engineer of record for this welcoming environment, performed the following tasks:
- Used 3D programs to analyze the strengths of the structures, ensuring they resisted gravity and environmental loading.
- Created a superior design that compensated for the elevation differences between the front and back of the building.
- Designed a two-story storefront that met the highest of both functionality and strength requirements.
- Coordinated with contractors, architects and engineers, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection, to create a seamless project from design to construction.
Spyder Engineers’ cohesive work enabled the success of Hygea Healthcare Middle River, which created a beautiful space for Hygea Healthcare’s mental health professionals and patients.
