Spyder Engineers, LLC designs various coffee retails stores in the Maryland and Virginia regions. This project located in Cockeysville, Maryland is one example of our work.
As part of this renovation project, a former bank was converted into a coffee retail store. The existing building was a 1088 square foot one-story building with two drive through lanes. Spyder Engineers, LLC provided structural engineering service to enclose the existing drive through lanes into part of the interior space; increasing the total interior square footage to approximately 1630 square foot. In addition to the building addition, we modified the exterior structure to rebrand the building, and reinforced the existing beam to remove a column.
A former liquor store was converted into a trendy coffee retail store with an outdoor patio area covered by a chic trellis. Spyder Engineers, LLC performed the structural engineering design to enclose the exterior drive-through area and transfored it into an interior space. Spyder Engineers, LLC also provided support for the new roof top units, designed for a new large opening at the CMU wall, and the supports for all the canopies and trellis space.
A former diner was converted into a coffee retail store in Sterling, Virginia. Spyder Engineers, LLC provided structural engineering services, including the design for a screen wall above the existing building that practically doubled the height of the building. The roof was completely redesigned to accommodate for new rooftop units and screen wall. In addition, Spyder Engineers, LLC also designed the support for all the fascia and drive-through canopies to enhance the overall aesthetics of the building.
